A new Cardano-based project looks to combine science and art. Introducing a decentralized Periodic Table of Elements on the Cardano blockchain where users can own elements as NFTs.
The PeriodicTable.io project looks to combine science and art while offering a unique perspective on the Periodic Table of Elements. Community members can own an element NFT (Non-Fungible Token), from the periodic table that is both accurate and visually stimulating per the project website. All 118 elements are represented as 1 of 1 NFTs. The website periodictable.io is packed with information on each element and valuable scientific content. Additionally, element NFT owners have the opportunity to publish their own information/content on the individual element URLs. “We wanted to take a useful scientific tool, The Periodic Table of Elements and combine it with art.”, says George - Development Lead for PeriodicTable.io. He adds, “As we continue to develop our interactive table, our goal is to make this a go-to resource for chemists, scientists, students and anyone looking to learn about the elements.”# The ELEMENT Token

The utility token named “ELEMENT” is used by the project as a means of currency for content submissions and as a reward token to the community. ELEMENT is a Cardano native token offering low transaction fees and is available on one of the most popular Cardano DEX platforms by volume, Minswap. “Having utility when you launch a token is imperative for its success.” says George. “Our token has utility from the very start. Users can pay a small fee in ELEMENT Token to have their content published on the specific element NFT URL,” continues George. Element Token holders can also stake their tokens on the ELEMENT farm on Minswap which can yield more ELEMENT rewards over time.
In addition to the scientific aspects of the project, another important goal is to teach the community about the Cardano Blockchain. “We are huge fans of Cardano and have worked within the ecosystem for some time. There is always a lot of fud out there in the blockchain space. We know that when more of the community is educated on how Cardano works, they will never look back. For example, the low transaction fees and the immense decentralization at its core are groundbreaking in this space,” says George.
