Cardano’s eUTXO model successfully fixed the technical errors of Western blockchain architecture, but the current socio-political designs of the Voltaire era risk falling into ancient Western traps.
An audit of the CIP-1694 governance layer reveals it is deeply trapped by Eurocentric institutional dogmas. The Tripartite Structure—splitting power between DReps, SPOs, and the Constitutional Committee—is explicitly modeled after Montesquieu’s Separation of Powers. Historically, this assumption that dividing power among elite classes stops corruption fails; these three bodies often form a closed loop of systemic collusion, alienating the everyday ADA holders and inducing heavy voter apathy.
Furthermore, the introduction of DReps (Delegated Representatives) offers the illusion of liquid democracy, mirroring the Roman Republic’s Tribunes of the Plebs. The failure point here is that power naturally centralizes into a tiny handful of "super-DReps" who have the marketing budget or VC backing to accumulate millions of ADA, reducing governance to a sheer popularity contest that ignores context and competence. If Cardano wants to maintain its scientific rigor, it must critically re-evaluate these imported Western political structures.
